Job opportunity with an anticipated USAID-funded program in Bangladesh

East-West Management Institute, Inc. (EWMI) invites applications for Chief of Party as part of EWMI’s proposal for the upcoming five-year USAID/ Communities for Gender Equality (CGE) Activity in Bangladesh. The Activity will seek to improve gender equality, reduce the prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV), and support at-risk populations and survivors of GBV. This is a long-term full-time position and offers a generous benefits package.
The COP, based in Bangladesh, will serve as the overall leader of the CGE Activity, responsible for managing all aspects of the project including meeting CGE’s technical goals while providing overall administrative, budgetary, and logistical oversight. The COP will also act as the principal liaison between EWMI and USAID/Bangladesh, and government, civil society, and private sector partners.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in any area of development, social science, business, education or related field with significant years of relevant experience;
- Relevant experience in managing GBV and/human rights programs, of this size and scope (in terms of dollar amounts and number of people managed), in developing countries and preferably in South Asia region;
- Strong and demonstrated experience or proven skills to manage and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including government;
- Demonstrated capabilities in high-level strategic vision, innovative programming, and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team on projects of a similar scale (financially, culturally, staff size and activities);
- Strong technical expertise managing and leading large-scale programs in advocacy, accountability, research/learning, education/information campaigns and program development and implementation, preferably related to GBV and/or gender equality;
- Demonstrated strong management, interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to work closely as a team and to network with a wide range of stakeholders are essential;
- Demonstrated excellent English language writing and oral presentations skills
- Experience and/or familiarity with USAID projects and programs preferred.
