Under RFA LDF-2017-001, the LDF will fund two categories of legal services; category one (1) will support provision of legal services to persons, specifically human rights defenders, in the form of advice (consultation), litigation assistance (defense against criminal charges and/or tort actions) or otherwise working to reduce a legal liability associated with their activities as human rights defenders. Category two (2) will support civil society organizations in meeting legal and administrative challenges that may impede their mission/work.

CCSS released RFA DGF-2017-002 on February 20, 2017, and invited Cambodian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to apply for Democracy and Governance Fund grants for activities that will help them and other CSOs find more effective expression. The aim of the grant is to fund CSOs, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Academic Institutions to undertake activities that serve to expand civic engagement in the political process, with particular attention paid to engaging women and youth, by building capacity and opportunity for effective expression and engagement. The purpose of this round of grant-making is to promote impactful expression, through any number of methods.
